And I’m glad for that! My early morning walk tomorrow will be bright and cheery. I walk three miles most days. Two 1-1/2 mile segments.

Hate it. I don’t get up early to do things outside very often anymore so give me the light until 5:30pm instead.

Put me in the camp of both sticking with one time year around and the winner being DST. I'm a DST fan as I love having sunlight when I get home from work. I dislike standard time because Mon thru Fri all of the daylight is used up while I'm at work or commuting to/from work.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Except on the "rez" (the Navajo Nation).

This time of year, when I drive home from work at twilight or, later, full darkness, there is always an uptick in people driving with a headlight out, or no headlights at all. Roll Eyes

Exactly and typically it is also a little warmer as well.

I hate losing DST. Most of my farm work gets done in the evening after the "work day" and loss of sunlight really messes with that.

I don't like Daylight Wasting Time either.

It should help those who have small kids waiting on the school bus in the morning.

Every year about this time our so-so representative sends out a short questionnaire in his newsletter asking if we prefer Standard Time or DST, apparently trying to give us the impression he's going to do something about it. However, that is the last we will hear of it until it's time to change again. We never see the results of his polls, probably too much effort to compile the statistics.

I prefer Standard Time, but I can live with DST. Let's decide on one or the other and be done with it!

The only good thing is that I get an hour of OT, other than that, the whole thing can fuck off into the ocean.

So for about a week it won't be pitch black for my drive to work but it'll be dark by 5PM. In about a week it'll once again be pitch black for my drive to work and be dark by 4:45 or so. Awesome.

A bill to make DST permanent passed the Senate. Never made it to the House due to lack of a Speaker.

I live on permanent dst. I just changed my office hours to 7-4 until it changes back in the spring to 8-5.
Still get up and go to bed at the same natural time so there's no disruption to me other than having to set my alarm an hour earlier to offset the stupid time change.
I hope more people do this and negate this idiotic practice of fucking everything up twice a year

We need to stick with the standard time... my argument is because I'm a traditinaist and we are 5 hours behind '0' Greenich mean time.... when ever you are doing celestial navigation you need to know exactly what the time is to the second and it is easier to just keep the correction at 5 and not have to change to 4. (East Coast of U.S.)

I do think it would be funny if we could convince some politicians to start supporting DSD year round because by giving us an extra hour of sun a day we could get more Solar power this way.
