I usually go the the American Cemetery at Madingley, not far from Cambridge.

For three reasons -

1. To remember my son, who died on July 4th.

2. To remember 2nd Lt Thomas J Foley, whose name is on the Wall of the Missing.

3. and to remember Cpl John D Foley, Plot C Row O, Grave #58.

If an American should speak to me, I wish him or her a heartfelt Happy 4th in remembrance of my father's land, which also fought the British for their independence from oppression and tyranny.

I thoroughly enjoy the 4th and the fireworks show. We have a family up the street that is part of a low-rider club and the display they put on is as extensive as most mid-size towns. I don't make or light any now-adays as the kids out of the house.
