Right now if you download the Amazon Prime photo app and upload photos, you not only get free unlimited full res storage but Amazon will give you a $15 credit to your Amazon Prime account. Seems like a pretty deal if you already have Prime. link Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. Interesting. I have nearly 2 TB of raw image files backed up with Carbonite. How long do you think it will take Amazon to pull back on the unlimited storage? I wonder what their end-game is here? Obviously not making any money on it presently or in the near future. -Rob I predict that there will be many suggestions and statements about the law made here, and some of them will be spectacularly wrong. - jhe888 A=A

It's not you, it's me. |
I love Prime Photos. What’s really awesome is if you want, Amazon can print those photos and send them to your house within a day or two. Cheap and fast.

I think the service has been available to Prime members for some time. My guess is they are not seeing as many participants as other such services (Google, Apple) et al and want people to start using in to further cement them to the Prime membership. I do like the app. It's very intuitive. Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. So far the catch is unlimited photos and not video. I have the upgraded storage for video. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. You should know I'll be there for you!

Amazon Music used to have unlimited storage. I uploaded my music library. The Amazon Music went to a pay service and truncated my library in a random fashion until I met the free storage limit of 250 songs. Just keep this story in mind if you think the unlimited storage will remain free.
