Vienna Inn
Selling over 10,000 chilli dogs every month you would be remiss to pass up a loaded dog, complete with chili, cheese, spicy mustard and diced onion.

TBHI’ll have to give them a try! We went to a baseball game in Seattle and they put cream cheese on their dogs! Definitely not a fan…

I agree. From the photo in oddball’s post (page 1) you’d have to eat it with a knife and fork. That ain’t no way to eat a hotdog.

I can assure you it is very right!!!
We got a couple of new hot dog stands recently and they have been getting my business at least once a week.
Still not as good as Skyline or even really comparable but very good.

That, my friend, is what makes them so good. The contrast.
Chili and slaw on a hot dog is a West Virginia staple. Do not let anybody tell you that the pepperoni rolls the Yankees brought here are somehow a state food.
As Nismo said, hot dogs with chili and slaw only exist in quantities of two (or more).

pawprintsdocIn our neck of the woods, there is a great hot dog place called Skin’s that started out in 1946. They’re still a family business with several locations around the Anderson, Clemson, Greenville area of SC.
I go there too often.
If you walk in there and order a chili dog, you get chili on a bun, no weenie. If you want the weenie, you order a hot dog with chili. I’m not sure if the same goes for a slaw dog…I never order them, but will have to ask next time I go in.
I like my dogs with chili, ketchup, mustard, hot sauce and mayo (blasphemy, I know).
Edited to add: My best friend has a brother-in-law who has been a manager at Skin’s for many years now. He just confirmed what I thought..their slaw is sold on the side in the little clear, plastic cups. So you can make it however you like it.

mrapteam666That is my dads favorite way to eat hot dogs
There is/was a place in Southern Ohio where my parents grew up that served these great dogs.
During our visits to my maternal grandparents, my dad and grandpa would pile us in the car and we would grab a take out order of:
Coneys with slaw
True Cherry Cokes and
Fries with gravy.
Now I am hungry..

KrazeehorseI like the southern variation with slaw on pulled pork sandwiches too.

TRIOI'm not a fan of mayo, so the slaw dog is a no go for me.
My go to dog is just topped with chili, mustard, and onions. Perhaps cheese if it is real. Not a fan of fake cheese either.

I thought that too until I tried one. Really popular in this area. As SIG4EVA mentioned, around here they are generally chili, mustard, onions, and slaw.
