Mini chainsaws, any expirence?
I have a battery powered powered one that I use for trimming mesquite trees - has a 10" bar and it works just fine - very easy to operate and control

I have the Ryobi 40 volt pole saw. Love the thing. My Stihl rarely gets used any more.

I just purchased the 12 inch Dewalt….like it so far…only used it twice before leaving on a trip to Atlanta….I’ll get a better feel for it when I get home

I think a 12" battery one with a few spares would be great for packing in to do hiking trail work.

Yup, sounds like a loose chain. The other thing to note is that chains tend to get loose when one lets them get dull and keeps trying to cut without sharpening them. A properly tensioned chain that is sharp tends to stay properly tensioned.
