Thanks for posting that story BB61. I am so glad his family does not have to worry about his fate or what he might have suffered. If only all of the 1000 plus families that are missing family members in Vietnam could have the same. Here is a link from the same website talking about a living WW11 vet. The awful toll of that battle, and the number of soldiers from his unit that survived that specific fight, really drives it home for me. https://www.ksl.com/article/50...incredible-100-years We are so fortunate them men like these, were here at the right time in history.

What a aproperate day to welcome home this Marine. ..... June 2006 to Aug 2016 rode motorcycles with the "Patriot Guard Riders" and was involved with numerous veteran honor guard escorts by standing as a honor guard at events such as welcome home / deployement send off for individuals as well as entire units / honor guard at the funeral home / funeral procession to the grave site/ to rendering final honors at the grave site.... Actually 2 different services for veterans that were captured POW"s from the Korean Conflict that were id"d and returned home.. One such service was attended by a surviving squad member that had survived the unit being overrun some 60+ years prior........ God bless our troops be they past / present / or future. ......................................... drill sgt.
