MSPB isn't a union, either, although there are quite a few of them. AFGE and NFFE come to mind. I agree with you wholeheartedly that unionized labor has absolutely no place in government. Organizing against the interest of your employer in the public sector context is contrary to the best practices of an efficient government. That's not really the problem here, though.

They may not be an "official" union, but they sure act like it!

And the disheartening thing about this crap is that it is not limited to the VA, but is rampant among most, if not all, gubbermint agencies.

We have first hand experience with the VA and how our wounded veterans are treated. Or not treated.

One we have come across was badly injured which left his spine damaged. The VA steadfastly refuses to do the surgery to fix it. Instead they simply continue to prescribe more, and more, pain meds.

Typical VA/gubbermint BS. At one point the guy saw FIVE doctors at the VA facility, all of whom agreed that he needed pain meds, but not a fucking one of them would write the prescription.

He left without meds, to undertake a 140 mile trip home. 280 miles of travel to have them tell him he needed pain meds, but would not authorize them.

That new law that was used to re-fire the VA director was specifically written (and signed) to deal with these recurrent problems of inability to get rid of bad garbage.

It's another feather in Trump's cap, and the Secretary of Veterans Affairs is very highly regarded by GOP and Democrats.
