400mYou have to rebuild Mt. Rushmore
We just found video evidence of the current four doing some bad shit.
South Dakota Air National Guard just cleared the canvas. Trump ordered it rebuilt. Which four will make the cut?

MNSIGSame four, or don't rebuild. Nobody could survive the scrutiny of hundreds of years of analysis.

I sure hope so...seriously!
Last year I had the honor of visiting Mt. Rushmore for the first time during my second cross country jaunt. Of course I'd seen pictures of it and thought I knew what to expect....
As I walked through the passageway of state and territory flags, I felt moved. A little further I walked into the opening that granted me the full vision of our Presidents. I couldn't keep it in. Tears filled my eyes and I was just bowled over. Such a rewarding visit and I spent way more time there than I should have. The trail that takes you closer to the figures was well worth it.
If you've never been, this is one place to see before the end. I know the members here are Patriots and you will love the experience.

92fstechI say leave it alone...or in this scenario put it back like it was. They got it right the first time. No, none of them were perfect, but they all contributed greatly to our country, and had the best interests of our nation at heart.
Washington led the country through the Revolution, and was the first president so he's a logical choice. But the man could have ruled for life, and chose not to. He embodied the concept of service to ones country, for the good of the country, and was probably the closest thing to a "modern" Cincinnatus that world has seen.
Jefferson represents the values and philosophy behind our system of government. He was instrumental in developing it, fought for the bill of rights to be added, and drafted the document himself. Yes, there were a lot of other contributors, but he was the central figure and the logical choice for the monument.
Lincoln was the leader who kept our country together during what has probably been it's greatest test to-date. People will forever disagree over his methods, but the man showed resolve throughout the war, even when things were looking very bleak. He also had a reconciliatory vision for the country after the war, but never got to realize it because he was assassinated.
Teddy Roosevelt was kind of a crazy dude, but I love his philosophy on manliness and adventure, and I really think he embodied the American Spirit. His contributions towards conservation kept our country from being plundered by industrialization, and I have spent a lot of time enjoying the fruits of those efforts. Those of us who love the outdoors owe him a huge debt. Also, of all the Presidents our country has had, I think Teddy would have been the most fun and exciting to hang out with.
The Black Elk Wilderness is directly across from Mount Rushmore and I've hiked that area a few times, and have even done an overnighter there. Black Elk Peak is the highest mountain in the US East of the Rockies, and there's a great view of Rushmore from the top. My brother and I ran out of water on one of our trips and ended up filling up from a nasty algea-filled cistern/retention pond up there. It tasted like crap even after we filtered it, but we didn't get sick, lol. Here's a view from up there. You can't see Rushmore in the picture because it's behind the peak, but it's just absolutely beautiful country.
The last time I was at Rushmore there was an older fella with an accordion who was just hanging out playing patriotic songs and military anthems. Some of it almost gave me shivers it was just so fitting for the location. Very neat experience.

cslingerTo quote Firefly….
“It's my estimation that every man ever got a statue made of him was one kind of sumbitch or another.” So I say leave it be.
But to play along.
