Skagway = White Pass & Yukon Railway to Lake Bennett. THE most popular tourist train on the planet.

Before booking on the White Pass Railroad, thoroughly research it and make sure what you are getting. There are several different excisions available. Some go to Lake Bennett, others go up just past the border and turn around. Others are split still with the trip up by bus and the trip down by rail. My wife booked the White Pass Railway trip for our second cruise. She unknowingly booked one that was a trip up by bus and a trip down by train. It basically just crossed the border and turned around. Having seen Lake Bennett before I was thoroughly disappointed to stop short of it. The trip up by bus sucked balls. Stuck in an aisle seat with limited visibility out. I would recommend an excursion that was either all by rail or do the Jeep trip up. My daughter can deflate your daughter's soccer ball.

fpuhan, I assume that “visit” often means passing through quickly on the Interstate, but your post about visiting the entire 48 contiguous, leads me to ask. What are a couple really beautiful, or just fun to see or experience places in the 48, that most Americans do not think of as destinations? _______________________________________________________ despite them
