Really, they did him a favor and saved him a lot of work. Since they don't do anything to vagrant junkies on the West Coast, I expect that cook will have his home-on-wheels back from impound within the week, and with an apology for the misunderstanding.

Firearms training was always suspect with SFPD, rarely ever are outside trainers brought in. Command staff would only allow the long-time armory and weapons staffs to regurgitate TTP's from decades ago, a few guys would get outside training on their own and try to disseminate that to the rest of their teammates; usually resulting in the command staff squashing any new ideas. Combined with the heavy-handedness of the police commission, a confrontational political landscape and the adversarial relationship with the police union...you get things like this.

These bozos with badges have to be the laughing stock in squad rooms all over the nation.

Anyone else hear one of the officers yelling "Get more ammo!" while the barrage was still going on? It is both sad and incredibly funny at the same time.

Maybe they should have had some of those evil black rifles.

Maybe they thought they saw the Predator.

Keystone Cops.

There use to be a time in our nation that Police shot a lot. They where paid extra to shoot some times. They where required to shoot once a month. They went to local, state, regional, national, and international Police pistol competitions. They did this for fun and pride in their job and to be a good shot when the time called for it. Many Cops use to be Gun Guys. It is sad that this isn't the same anymore.

I'd imagine that Inspector Harry Callahan is sorely, SORELY disappointed. He would have blown that dude's head CLEAN off...

Meanwhile, SDPD is making it look easy, going 1 for 1.
