German farmer protests continue https://theconservativetreehou...istribution-centers/ The German farmer protests are strategic. The reality that food doesn’t originate in a grocery store is an odd concept for many who do not pay attention. The latest strategic move by the farmers aims to highlight the issue. With an alliance of truckers supporting the farmers, the German farmers have now begun short-term blockades of warehouse and distribution centers. The farmers are following and disrupting the general supply chain, leading to delivery issues upon the downstream retail stores that carry their products. In Germany, farmers block the warehouses of retailers Aldi, Amazon and Lidl. As the media reported, the president of the Bavarian Farmers’ Association Gunther Felsner said that regional organizations representing the interests of farmers want to enter into dialogue with representatives of the federal government this week. According to the head of the association, if the authorities do not agree to concessions, nationwide protests will continue. Western media are avoiding all reporting on the events because they do not want to fuel public awareness. more at link _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." That speaks VOLUMES as to the power of the [sup]PRESS in this country. Our “media” has turned into the TASS and Pravda propaganda machines of the USSR. Gorbachev would be so proud! "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Winters (1918-2011), E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

God forbid the German Government doesn't go all Canadian on them and start seizing assets, jailing farmers, taking their bank account balances.

Gotta keep the general public in-line as to who the 'bad guy' is. Canada did that with the truckers in Ottowa last Winter. They willfully went out and painted participants and sympathizers alike as far-out rubes, right-wing loons who are having a tantrum, unable to grasp the complexities of the 'real world' because they're not so smart.
They aren't lying to you, they'll just under-report it, downplay the activity or, just not cover it at all...conscious clean. Any reports, articles, exposes will frame the participants and their cause as an aggressive collection of extremists, lashing out that the world is changing and their 'privileges will not be extended to them anymore'.

It has spread to France. French govt prepares to head off ‘siege’ of Paris planned by agricultural unions France's government said Sunday it was making plans to avoid any blockage of routes around the French capital as agricultural unions prepared to mount a "siege" of Paris, part of efforts to pressure the government to meet their demands on pay, taxes and regulations. https://www.france24.com/en/fr...to-mount-paris-siege Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin on Sunday tasked law enforcement officials with putting into place "extensive security measures" to prevent farmers from blocking Paris area airports or its Rungis market and “to prohibit any entry into Paris”. The leaders of two of France's largest farming unions said Saturday that members from the regions around Paris "will begin an indefinite siege of the capital" on Monday. "All the major roads leading to the capital will be occupied by farmers," they said, announcing their intention to blockade the massive Rungis wholesale food market south of the capital. French farmers are furious at what they say is a squeeze on purchase prices for produce by supermarket and industrial buyers, as well as complex environmental regulations. But the last straw for many was the phasing-out of a tax break on diesel fuel for farm equipment. French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal's Sunday visit to a cattle farm in the western region of Indre-et-Loire came two days after he announced a number of concessions following blockades by farmers of major routes into Paris and in the south of the country. "We will look at any other measures we can take regarding ... aspects of unfair competition," Attal said on Sunday. 'Ready to explode' Attal said the government would "put an end" to the rising cost of diesel fuel used for farming machinery, a consequence of the tax breaks on the fuel having been phased out. There would also be an emergency fund to help cattle farmers battle illnesses among their livestock. Early on Saturday, some roadblocks were being lifted and traffic began running normally on motorways But the latest announcement by the FNSEA farmers' union and the Jeunes Agriculteurs (Young Farmers), which together represent most farmers in France, puts the pressure back on Attal. His concessions have "not calmed the anger, we need to go further", said FNSEA President Arnaud Rousseau. "We have a government that doesn't care about its farmers," said Lucie Delbarre, general secretary of the Pas-de-Calais FDSEA branch. "As you can see, it's a pressure cooker ready to explode." The government has been trying to keep discontent among farmers from spreading just months ahead of European Parliament elections, which are seen as a key test for President Emmanuel Macron's government. Francois Ruffin, a lawmaker with the left-wing France Unbowed (LFI) party, said the government needed to "set a course for French agriculture". "We need to tell it what it should be doing: is its aim to compete with factory farms in Brazil or Ukraine, or is its aim to feed the French properly? Polish Farmers Set To Join European Revolt With Mass Blockade https://www.zerohedge.com/poli...revolt-mass-blockade Polish farmers are set to join the continent-wide revolt against the EU by launching a massive nationwide strike and blockade later this week. Farmer protests have exploded in multiple different countries against the EU’s green agenda and the flooding of markets with cheap grain from Ukraine, which is bankrupting the agricultural industry. While the EU continues to pour millions of euros into Ukraine to prop up their economy, European farmers have been hit with tax hikes and emissions caps that threaten to destroy their livelihoods. They cannot compete with the cheap price of imported Ukraine grain and in some cases are being ordered not to farm at all. In France, there is a farmer suicide every other day as the EU deploys high-tech surveillance drones as a tool of enforcement which in some cases means the farmers cannot even cut back bushes and hedgerows without permission. In Poland, the Trade Union of Individual Farmers said, “Our patience has run out” as they announced a general strike across the whole country. “We ask our compatriots for understanding and awareness of the situation we all find ourselves in. We are fighting for our common good, which is to prevent the collapse and bankruptcy of Polish family farms, often multi-generational. Where possible, we ask to avoid travel in the affected areas,” the group stated. From February 9, farmers will launch a blockade of all Polish border crossings with Ukraine, as well as highway blockades in numerous provinces. “The situation is exacerbated by alarming statements from Brussels,” reports Remix News. “The European Union will need €1.5 trillion per year in investments to achieve its net-zero emissions goal by 2050, according to research supported by EU lawmakers, as reported by Reuters. This week, the European Commission is expected to recommend that the EU reduce its net emissions by 90 percent by 2040 compared to 1990 levels; it will also outline a massive increase in investments needed to set Europe on the path to achieving zero net emissions by 2050.” Another organization of farmers already blocked a key border crossing with Ukraine although they backed down after their demands were met. _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." The European Commission has bent the knee to protesting farmers - and is dropping key passages in a proposal for a new 2040 goal aimed at cutting greenhouse gas pollution. https://www.zerohedge.com/poli...040-climate-proposal According to the EU exeuctive's plan, "all sectors" need to now contribute to the effort - but the previously mandated 30% cut to agricultural production between by 2040 is gone. The revised draft has also excluded a mandate for citizens to make lifestyle changes - such as eating less meat, and a push to end fossil fuel subsidies, Farmers' protests have broken out in many countries across Europe in recent weeks, with the industry expressing discontent over the EU’s green policies. Some of the largest demonstrations have been in Germany, prompted by a cut to diesel subsidies. Brussels has faced calls from industry groups and some political parties to lay out a 2040 climate pathway that doesn’t ignite further anger. The EU's plan is set to be presented on Tuesday and will recommend a 90 percent cut in total EU emissions by 2040 from 1990 levels — a suggestion in line with scientific advice. The updated version of the plan, which is still subject to change, framed agriculture in a more positive light compared to earlier drafts. The role the sector plays in the EU’s “food sovereignty” was also emphasized. "We need to make sure we have a balanced approach," said European Commission Wopke Hoekstra, who unveiled the revised proposal. "The vast majority of our citizens sees the effects of climate change, does want protection, but is also worried about what that implies for their livelihood." Meanwhile, the BBC reports that the EU has also scrapped plans to cut pesticide use in half across the EU - which was to take effect by 2030 as part of the so-called "Green Deal." The changes were spearheaded by the powerful center-right European People's Party (EPP), the political family of top EU executive Ursula Von der Leyen, and constitutes the EU Parliament's largest group.
