I take strong exception to your statement. My late wife was dying from cancer and the requirements to fill her prescriptions for painkillers was unbelievable: only written scripts were acceptable, had to be for only a weeks' supply, and scripts had to be hand carried from doctor to pharmacist. Part of the problem was the former Democratic Governor of Virginia who signed off on Health Department directive that there were no exceptions for end-of-life patients.

I don't think the diagnosis is in the prescription. But Pharmacistss now are doctor level and they know what drugs are prescribed for and what the drugs do. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Another Mounjaro user here. I was not able to get the dosage I needed (5mg) mail order, so I went hunting local pharmacies for it. Was able to get the 2.5mg dose to tide me over until mail order was able to fill my regular dose. If I'm watching my diet strictly and exercising as I should the lower dose works fairly well. Its a real pain in the ass to have to do this but we do what we have to. Thanks mjlennon for the link to the FDA site,Will have to keep an eye on this.

We are actually saying pretty much the same thing actually. The onerous requirements put forth by the DEA and state regulatory agencies make it hard to prescribe, and hard for the people who truly need it to get it. In my state the requirement is that all narcotics RX’s must be submitted electronically no written or call in allowed. Which is difficult when I am on call and a patient calls me late at night when I am home or when the computers are down ( there is a tech company that runs most of the electronic communication that goes from practitioner to pharmacy, and not too long ago they had a major bug and you couldn’t send to half the pharmacies in the state, which is difficult in rural communities that might only have one or two in town. The same agencies that are making it difficult for everyone involved are the same agencies 20 years ago that advocated pain as the 5th vital sign, and we jumping up and down pressuring practitioners to give more narcotics!

Many of these medications come from China and India. What could possibly go wrong? _____________________ Be careful what you tolerate. You are teaching people how to treat you.

I switched to Vyvanse because Concerta ER kept being backordered. My Vyvanse has been backordered twice in 6 months.
