Going from 105 to the low 90s daytime here, low 60s at night. A refreshing change.

Honestly, I've lived here since 1994 and I've yet to meet anyone that said they wouldn't love to live here after visiting.

I won't count a USAF MSGT who couldn't handle the occasional high winds, especially during the winter. His transfer to another base couldn't come fast enough.

Better cover your petunias, Alan.

Well, I'm not smart enough to know if this was a shot at me or not, but it made laugh out loud when I read it regardless.

Just off my back deck:

As Scuba Steve said, lack of rain this summer may be a big part of the early change.

Usually you can. But not this year. Apparently Mt. Evans had the virus or something.

Weather along the front range. Don't like it wait 10 minutes. Really during the summer months highs are around 100 and lows around 60. That's a 40 degree swing that happens in 12 hours most every day. This is a powerful cold front that's a little uncommon (not unheard of) for this time of year. I'm going to enjoy the hell out it.

I think I read 18-19 inches predicted for RMNP area. It's a godsend (although with 50 mph winds) to help with the Cameron fire west of Fort Collins CO. I've been watching ash fall all day today here in Greeley. Oh, I suppose I'm not the only one planning to retire in Spearfish Big Grin

Still hard to believe we had temperatures in the triple digits Saturday and then snow Monday evening. Here is my neighborhood at noon Tuesday.

Crazy!

Now, imagine being a settler on the Great Plains in the 1800s, without modern weather forecasts. You're minding your own business, tending your crops/animals in the summer heat, starting to get prepared for harvest season and then winter that's still months away, and suddenly BAM a foot of snow out of nowhere!

Yeah, I hope it helps with the fires. Here's the sky in Fort Collins the other day at a friend's...

A few days ago the air was so gross outside with ash and junk the dogs wouldn't stay outside.

We are visiting in Salt Lake City area, temps over the weekend were 100+. Last night there were winds at 70+ mph. This morning the low temp was 40. The one hour of local news was the same five minute weather story, repeated ten times, and it was all sensationalism.

Agree. Relatives in Golden CO have lamented the ash in the air as well from the wildfires. Here we've gotten smokey air from the Kalifornia wildfires. Frown

CRAZY CONTINUES!

Broke the record high Saturday, 5 September (104℉ airport 102℉ downtown erasing the 1960 previous high of 98℉), and now the record low for 7 September) and earliest measurable snowfall. Roll Eyes

The northern part of the Black Hills saw the highest amounts. Terry Peak (ski resort) had fifteen inches. Lead saw ten inches, while Deadwood saw six inches. Keystone, near Mount Rushmore in the central Black Hills got four inches. Rapid City downtown received an inch.

Yup, weird shit here in Colorado. The ash was unbelievable. I'm really hoping this does a number on the fires out west. Getting really tired of the ash and stinky unhealthy air. Gonna mess with the hunters too. It can make for real fun getting in and out of man of those back roads up there..

Our son lives just north of SLC and lost all of his 15 year old deciduous trees to the winds.

Johnny: It takes a long time to grow a 15 year old tree.
Audience: How long does it take?

We've had snow this early before up here. Temp swing, don't recall that. Most of the snow below tree line will be gone in a couple days. A few straggler humming birds best get a move on!
