Meet Dexter!
A local shelter announced a new litter of available pups and after seeing his face I simply had no choice. He's an Australian Shepherd/Red Heeler mix.
My Aussie, Bowser, has taken on the roll of his brother's keeper in amazing fashion and has not left the pup's side since he got home.

That puppy's eyes are still suspicious of you.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Sure looks like it. He was just wondering what I was doing with my phone in his face. Smile
He's extremely well socialized for 8 weeks old and is very affectionate with us already.
Two things I totally forgot about puppies:
1. Soft toys that you can fill with peanut butter and freeze will save your furniture (and hands).
2. One of those indoor puppy playpens saves a lot of sanity and carpet shampoo.

Awww...What a cute pup!

That's quite a mix, I'm surprised you were able to get him to sit still long enough for a picture! Smile

Yeah those playpens really do wonders. They are big enough while he's that small to give him room to wander around and play, and are much tougher than I had thought they would be.

Congratulations, what a cute little guy. I love the herding dogs, we have a BC, they'll be great together.
