thumperfbcNeed help refreshing some kitchen drawers
I am getting ready to do some refreshing in our kitchen including painting the cabinets and replacing the 35 year old drawer slides. I’ve never done drawer slides but I’m willing to give one a try and see how it goes.
Anybody care to help me pick out what sort of replacement slides are good for my application?
There is only 7 drawers total so I don’t need to completely cheap out. My wife would like extremely smooth, easy opening drawers with the soft close feature.

bigdealThese are what I buy and install in all cabinet updates, or if I'm building replacement drawers. No need to spend any more than this on a retrofit. You'll have to determine the right slide length for your application (likely 21 3/4").
https://www.wwhardware.com/kv-...drawer-slide-kvtt100 Since you have face frame cabinets, you'll also need a pair of these for each pair of slides you install.

OutnumberedI used to run a kitchen and bath shop. Everything I sold had Blum Blumotion Tandem w/ Soft-Close slides. I have them in my own kitchen - very nice. The Knape and Vogt that bigdeal linked may very well be a good alternative, but I haven't used those, so I can't compare.

Blumotion has soft close; the KV's do not. You need to go to the
brochure and determine if your drawers will accept the chosen guides. Bottom recess is important. Your drawers have 1/2" clearance each side, so that's good for KV's.

And the sides are non existent too because the cabinet/island thingy is much wider than the drawers... there must be some sort of bracing to support the existing rails.
Maybe this project isn't as simple as I hoped.
