Roll Eyes

https://safeact.ny.gov/

I predict a Gov Cuomo news conference where he will preach "We must strengthen the SAFE Act..."

Off the link, he says: The SAFE Act stops criminals and the dangerously mentally ill from buying a gun by requiring universal background checks on gun purchases, increases penalties for people who use illegal guns, mandates life in prison without parole for anyone who murders a first responder, and imposes the toughest assault weapons ban in the country. For hunters, sportsmen, and law abiding gun owners, this new law preserves and protects your right to buy, sell, keep or use your guns.

I am so glad I left NYS 33 years ago!

Good shooting, Trooper. Firing through a windshield can do funny things to bullets, but it sounds like the Trooper knew enough about it to still get effective hits.

The academy where I teach recently implemented Vehicle CQB training for all cadets, which involves live firing within, through, and around actual cars. Good training for just this sort of situation.

(Also, I used to live in Binghamton about 30 years ago... Haven't heard that name in quite a while.)
I was employed at Universal Instruments in Binghamton for 6 years, including 2 with the new Canadian owners of their manufacturing plant. My home town was Vestal, just 7 miles west.

Damn some more escapees from NY state. Big Grin
Add yours truly, Sigmund, IronMike, (all from the greater Syracuse area) and others. Big Grin

I went to school near there, SUNY Oswego

Kevin Tarsia. 2002. I remember. Escape at Dannemora is about his murderer’s escape and capture.

Yes, today was the first time in years I could not recall his last name. I shot a lot of clays there on Grange Hall Rd and was proud to stand the flags back up atop the Park fence. The shooters stole their weapons just south into Pennsylvania, Great Bend or Hallstead.

I attended training with a NYSP trooper last October. They are issued the Gen4 Glock 21.
