Cissus Quadrangularis has been shown to heal bone breaks in both humans and dogs faster than without. I love it, however never broken a major bone. If you decide to use it, get the pills. It tastes horrendous.

Update: We had our ortho appointment today. They were able to set the bone and cast it. The fracture was worse than orginally thought- bad spiral fracture. They were able to reset the tibia but its not perfect. They will take xrays every week as it heals to make sure its not bowing out laterally as it heals. No surgery needed but it requires a full leg cast for a minimum of 8 weeks. "I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. Pink cast, at least that was good. Eight weeks will go by quickly. Glad they are monitoring it weekly.

Casts like to itch. Avoid the temptation to shove a clothes hanger down there to scratch it. If it is just around the top you can carefully work some itch cream in with just your finger. Otherwise, when an itch flares up, just grin and bear it, it will subside on its own eventually. (This from wearing a cast after piecing together my Achilles tendon in 2012.)

Great way to spend the summer Now she needs some stickers and artwork on that cast. If you're goin' through hell, keep on going. Don't slow down. If you're scared don't show it. You might get out before the devil even knows you're there. NRA ENDOWMENT LIFE MEMBER

^^^^^^^^ Hair dryer aimed down the cast does wonders. Ask the Ortho what they suggest these days

She's a bad ass. I was a few years older when I did my 8 weeks in a full leg cast followed by 4 in a below the knee cast after a bike mishap. The itching was no fun but I did get to be pretty quick on crutches.

When I look at the rad, it looks like they cast it slightly bowed. Did they sedate her to cast it? Looks like it displaced slightly from the first view, though it could just be the angle of the rads. Definitely gonna need to be a non weight bearing situation the entire time, or she'll end up having a Yosemite Sam bow on that sucker, lol. Glad to hear she's better and still being tough. ________________________________________________ "You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. That xray pic is when she was still in her temporary cast. They were able to straighten it mostly with the new cast, but it needs to be rechecked every week to make sure it isnt bowed out during healing. They said if you can draw a straight line through the middle of the bone its good to go- and right now after the cast thats what it looks like. Fingers crossed its still good, and Ill find out thur morning. "I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
