So, is it time for him to go yet? Seems that under his reign the Catholic church is disintegrating.

Yes, there are (relatively) poor people in every country... but where would you rather be (relatively) poor, a capitalist country like the US, or a socialist country like Venezuela or Cuba?

Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy.
--Winston Churchill

The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.
--Winston Churchill

Churchill’s “withering barrage of sarcasm,” said the late Dr. Harry Jaffa, “moreover puts us in mind of that dictum concerning property asserted by the Father of the American Constitution, James Madison, when he said, in the tenth Federalist, that ‘the protection of different and unequal faculties of acquiring property [is] the first object of government.’

One might add that according to Madison, the U.S. Constitution is intended to provide equal protection to unequal abilities. This is just as surely what Abraham Lincoln meant when in 1864 wrote to the Workingmen’s Association of New York that ‘Property is the fruit of labor; property is desirable; it is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise’”

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Isn't this the same Pope who said having air conditioning was evil, while having the Vatican A/C system replaced?

I'm old enough to remember when Ronald Reagan was President, Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister, and John Paul II was Pope!
... and the world was a better place.
People were taught the evil inherent in socialism/communism.
