It has been about 7 months since Carter went to Valhalla. WE finally were able to adopt a new little fella! We were at a Cinco De Mayo festivity event in Jupiter Florida where they were holding Chihuahua races. they were up to the last race and a rescue organization brought out a fella that ran by himself in a bye race. they introduced him a Tito and he was up for adoption. It must have been the margarita in me, I went and talked to the lady after the heat. She said he was a Jack Russell Dachshund mix. he was all over me and that was it. The next day I filled out an adoption application. I had to go to Miami on Monday and Haiti on Tuesday, so I stopped by on Monday and did the paperwork and made a deal for them to hold him till Thursday when I got back. He's been here over a week now and he is in his forever home. It turns out he is a hurricane rescue from Puerto Rico and is about 9 months old. he came over with a dachshund rescue, that's why they thought he was part wiener dog. I'm now thinking he is mostly if not all Jack Russell by his appearance, energy level, intelligence and appearance. He is like 10 lithium batteries taped together! He has never had an accident in the house, he listens and learns very fast! We have 3 cats and he gets along well. He came with full records, had his shots in PR. I took him to the vet and he received a clean bill of health. He is very spoiled! We named him after our friend and fellow Floridian Nicko McBrain.
Meet Nicko, this was on the way home
His first moment out back
first trip to Petco
his life jacket for when we go out on the water

"I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . That’s the only way to pay back part of that vast debt, to live up to and try to fulfill that tremendous obligation."
Alfred Hornik, Sunday, December 2, 1945 to his family, on his continuing duty to others for surviving WW II.
