I was thinking about having some made with the Citadel logo, and having them give them to contract cadets when they graduate, so they can come in for a free sundae.

Laich Industries in Ohio was the inventor.

They had a piece of the Cleveland Indians back in the day.

They are still hanging on. Asian competition is really hurting them.

I have no idea if they are still making them.

So if you get these made with the logo on them, do you have to pay a licensing fee to the Citadel for using it?

Maybe. I’d definitely need to get their permission etc.

I must admit I had no idea of what these helmets were as I'd never heard of them before. A quick search online brought me up to speed.

My ex's father was a graduate there, along with both his brothers, and the ex-FIL taught there.

Also, ex's grandfather had a miniature gravestone on his fireplace mantle which showed the day the Citadel dying as the same day the first female cadet entered.

My son is named after those two gentlemen,

Another Citadel Grad - Class of 92 - here. Good to see some more.

Same here. I had zero clue until now.

I actually prefer to eat my ice cream from an insulated mug. It really makes a difference.

Bit different than giving a few hundred kids an ice cream, though.
