mrapteam666Who is the best/ worst documentary narrator
I always enjoyed listening to Paul Sorvino narrate the show the Big House.
I also liked listening to Roger Mudd narrate various shows on the history channel.

ShifferbrainsWhen I was a kid, I really enjoyed Leonard Nimoy narrating for In Search Of.

ZSMICHAELPat Duke {narrates Swamp People} which is hardly a documentary is most annoying. {I had to look up the name}. The accent does not appear authentic to me. I think Ed Orgeron has a more pleasing voice.

Excellent money, not in front of a camera, you can do the gig in shorts & t shirt or pajamas if you want. Nowadays you can do gigs from the comfort of your own home with your own small studio or even over the phone if need be.

.38supersigSir David Attenborough is 8275 times better at narration than Mo Rocca.

ElToroJohn Chancellor the NBC newsman did ken burns baseball. I liked that a lot.
I think Kevin Costner has done some stuff. I know he’s done some nag geo/history channel narration
But David Attenborough in his prime could read the phone book and it would sound good. The most recent planet series at age 93 sounded a bit off

ZSMICHAELMarlin Perkins as the narrator on Wild Kingdom was so monotone he could do golf commentary. I can remember him narrating while Jim Fowler was wrestling a python or something, no voice inflection whatsoever. It was quickly followed by "And now a message from Hartz mountain."

MrToadSome good references here. I also liked Laurence Olivier narrating "World at War".

mttaylor1066David McCullough(historian) did an excellent job narrating Ken Burns' Civil War... I thought it was John Chancellor for the longest time.
Surely, some on this forum must remember Alexander Scourby narrating the National Geographic specials! He was great!
As for worst, Oprah Winfrey. Her fake nasal quality and faked enthusiasm just annoy me.
