I could just barely get by with 214 HP (My current V4 has 80, and it isn't slow) Can they put that motor in a Monster frame please?

That Desmosedici is a halo bike up there with Honda's RC213 V-S...it had a retail of over $70k and was probably ungodly expensive to maintain. This V4 should be quite a bit more inline with the 4cyl superbike competition in regards to price.

That is such a beautiful and powerful bike.
Man... I miss my Ducati. They have such soul.
That’s it! I have to stop buying guns and my extra duty money needs to go to another.

I am completely in love. Wonder what MSRP will be, not that I can afford a new one... but maybe a lightly used one, in a few years.
There is a forum member here who has a new-in-crate Desmosedici, perhaps he will be gracious enough to share.

stickman428 - don't use the word "inline" to reference this V motor. It's blasphemy.

Its apparent once you listen to the video. But I was thinking the same thing.
Is that the wet weight? That's 10 lbs. shy of by CBRs dry weight.

The 1299 is 20k, which is more expensive than the Japanese. This will cost more. I know some guys running one as a track bike (1299). Compared to their other stuff it is needing a lot more work, part replacement, etc, to keep it running. They are pretty tired of it actually.

Some of the Japanese bikes are getting pretty expensive too. The top tier Yamaha R1M has a msrp of $21,990. Even the GSXR's top trim level is getting up there at $16,999 (my local Suzuki shop has theirs listed at $17,199). Ducati has always been more on the expensive side but the top trim Japanese bikes are closing the price gap.

My Desmosedici 100RR was on pre-paid order for over 2 years and I had bought the then new 1099RR which was actually a 1199cc and was $40K and the Desmosedici was going to be priced at $65K and of course it went up in price several times before it was actually built. I bought my first Ducati in 1972 a 750SS which sells used for over $140 to $150K these days. If I had left it in the crate as is my Desmosedici still is it would sell for over $500K . I don,t know what the new V4 will sell for but guessing will be $30K and up depending on model and maybe they will build a Superlegiera version like the 1299RR which the last built was $80K . all the special low production ,rare and top of the line Ducatis will all hold their value and go up in price over time and the standard models will depreciate over time. Like anything else it is EXCLUSIVITIVITY!

So far I've only found the new Panigale V4 price listed in pounds. It starts at £19,250 for the base, £23,895 for the "S" version and a whopping £34,995 for the Speciale version which makes 226 bhp!
