I was a bicycle messenger and delivery truck driver in SF from 1969 thru 1972. I left the city for good in 1973. Like any major city, it has it’s bad neighborhoods and crime problems. I used to go back 2 or 3 times a year and stay with friends but I have not been back since 2003 when I went to a Giants game. I have not been in a town larger than 2,000 people in years. I’d probably freak out at all the people and traffic, but when lived there, I loved it, but I got city life out of my system by my mid 20's. The cost of motels and restaurants now? Refreakindiculous.
