Is there a flag for straight people?

mrvmaxIs there a flag for straight people?
I just read an article on LinkedIn about Chevron raising a "Pride" flag and touting their diversity and inclusion (sorry, I cannot find the link to post here but it is nothing new so picture what you have seen already). I see more and more companies doing this (including my own) and I am really fed up with it. These people are already working so what exactly is different? Have they been unable to find work? Is it only now that the pride flags are raised that they are finally employed?
I just do not understand why sexual preference matters in the workplace and why we no longer focus on people that can perform the work. I honestly do not care what people do as long as it does not affect me. I do not care who they love, have sex with, live with etc. and I really do not want to know any more. I do not ask any of the heterosexual workers to tell me about their sexual preferences. Perhaps I need to bring up the topic the next time we are in a meeting. I can picture it now, instead of having conversations related to work we can go around the table speaking about our sexual preferences, gender identity and numerous other things that have nothing to so with work. The problem is that along with this "diversity" these groups do not want
equal treatment - they want special treatment. They do not want to be treated like everyone else, they want to be treated better than everyone else.
So far I have never felt the need to tell everyone my sexual preferences at work and make them accept them. I've been working at the same place for over 20 years and have yet to see the homosexual people I work with discriminated against. In reality they are more protected due to their sexual preference, HR would go out of their way to fire anyone that treated them unfairly.
I guess I should create a straight person flag and ask my company to fly it. If anyone has any design ideas let me know.

I'm thinking something with a not-so-obvious graphic that illustrates what's supposed to go where, if you know what I mean.

jhe888Here's the beauty of it for us straight people. We are in the vast majority. The world assumes every one is straight until there is some reason to think otherwise.
Despite what some people would have us believe, straight is the norm, at least in terms of numbers. For example, when I encounter someone, it is safe for me to assume they are not Latvian. Even I think it is perfectly fine to be Latvian, I can confidently assume people here in Texas are not Latvian, as being non-Latvian is the norm.
In other words, we don't need a damn flag!

When then will big corporations and various levels of government celebrate these relatively rare Latvians you speak of? It is all in the name of diversity after all.

mrv, go ahead, but buff up your resume, because if you DARE bring up anything related to straight, conservative values as though you prefer them, you know you are toast.
True but I plan on retiring in 6 years so I am thinking about "raising a flag" right before I retire. It will be too late to do anything of any consequence at that point.

I never really considered that, the Latvians are definitely minorities, I need a flag for them too. Their national flag kind of looks like something first aid related so I do not think it will have the same affect as a cause specific flag. Arise Latvians and be acknowledged!!!!!!!!!!!
