Establishing a price for a gun Login/Join

I looked in the classified section and I didn't see anything about this topic.

I have two guns I would like to sell that I don't really have any idea as to their value. I have googled both of them but the prices very so much it's hard to get a proper price.

Can I list a few pictures and have members give their opinion or now way Jose?

If no way please ditch this post.

Sure, go ahead and post your pics. Let's have a for-sale ad right here in the Lounge. I'm serious. Let's sell your stuff right here. Go ahead and post your pics. Be my guest.

Now, what you want to do is have your email address visible in your profile. That way, members can email you to buy your stuff. Good luck.

Definitely don't need preferencial treatment just wanted to know if there was a good way to go about this.

If it's ok to do this should I create a thread in the classified section with pics.

If you want to know what guns like yours sell for, go to gun shops, gun shows, and pawn shops. Even easier in the day of the internet, is to look at Gunbroker and other auction sites. You'd have to have something very rare not to see lots of sales to give you an idea of the going price. If you have something common, like a Glock, you will find thousands of sales.

Or take Parabellum up on his invitation.

Look, every once in a while, I'll do the unpredictable. Let's have a sale. You can't make offers if you don't know what's for sale.

I guess someone will figure out that I'm serious.

All right I will take a few pics tonight if I get time otherwise tomorrow.

Just as a heads up both are rifles.
One is a Marlin Rifle with a Marlin Scope (.30.30).
The other is an M1A.

couple of issues, the JM marlins are worth more than the current ones, the really old marlins are worth more than the JM based on condition.

M1A's there are 20 different flavors a year, I am not kidding. We need more specific information.

Typically box, papers, tools, cleaning kits all add to the value, somewhere around 20-35% of the total gun value. so, if you have all that include it in the photos.

Be unpredictable at times. Only boring, dull-witted people never stray from the path.

I value my 1949 waffletop 336 completely different than my 80s era 336

I value my 67,000 or so Serial # M1A with all GI guts totally different than a M1A built 25 years later with none GI parts.

But you totally need to hold an auction here in the lounge. This will turn out well
