I haven’t been allowed to do any laundry for at least 30 years.
Apparently I don't do it right.

Two hampers in our bath.
One for most stuff, one for delicates.

About twice a week the contents mysteriously disappear…

I have no idea what happens after that.

Ever not do laundry on time and get down towards the bottom of the drawer where the socks and underwear are like new?

All you have to do is take your wife's favorite sweater and wash it on hot. No more laundry duty.

When I was in collge the University did it for you. That meant your mother sewing name tags with a number on everything, You threw the dirty down the laundry chute in the dorm and then picked it up at the campus laundry a week later. You got yours back and some laundry of another student. Everything was heavily starched even the permanent press,
When I moved off campus the laundromat that had a bar across the street was the place to go. I learned to check the tub before hand since guys working at the gas station used the same laundromat.

I also don’t own any delicates, I don’t think…

When living with a woman it’s easy to get ‘fired’ doing laundry. It seems one of the first things to be taken over, also easy to deliberately get reassigned.

Now living alone, no one wants to spend all day doing laundry.

I refrained from reading this thread because it was probably boring. I could not have been more wrong!!

In our house there are 3 bins, light colors, dark colors and synthetics

All are washed on cold with some detergent that my wife likes from Sam’s Club

When we are traveling/overlanding for an extended length of time most of our clothes for the trip are synthetic and get washed together. Some of our wool clothes get thrown in as well.

Just like in college, I have three categories of dirty clothes;

1) clean- just washed
2) worn and slightly dirty but doesn't smell yet
3) worn, can stand up by itself/smelly

Only #3 gets laundered, cold/cold, fast, fast.

One load a week for me, everything gets dumped in the SQ washer, started using powdered tide like my mom always did. Wash with warm water, clothes come out clean and smell good. Easy!
