I was a bit surprised by this. It’s not even close.

Question:
When looking at the total number since the inception of the sport who do you think has more wins in Motorcycle Grand Prix racing? (MotoGP)

Choices:
Ducati
Suzuki

I would guess MV Agusta, Yamaha, or Honda as #1 but surely Suzuki over Ducati.

The manufacturers you listed there ridewv did manage to finish 1, 2 & 3 in terms of wins. You know your motos! Not necessarily in the order you mentioned but those are the top three in terms of MotoGP wins. Reverse the order you mentioned them and you have #1, #2 & #3 in the win department.

I have no idea what you all are saying.

Do you mean since the inception of the sport of motorcycle racing or the inception of MotoGP? Are you asking about the 500 cc class?

What part exactly did you get confused about? This is in no way a confusing question.

“When looking at the total number since the inception of the sport who do you think has more wins in Motorcycle Grand Prix racing? (MotoGP)“.

How did you get confused?

Yes the 500 class is included. I’m taking about the top class 500/ MotoGP wins.

I had assumed incorrectly that Ducati had been racing in MotoGP longer than they have. Given the time they have been in the sport their number of wins is impressive.

Damn I got the top three even if backwards Smile. Interesting that Moto Guzzi won it three times.

Ducati have been more successful in WSBK than GP. That's no secret. Yes, you have to include the 500cc class when you speak of top tier motorcycle racing, as the name MotoGP class was just the renamed 500cc class when they went from 2-stroke 500cc to 4-stroke 990cc in 2002.

Many do not know that MotoGP lowered 990cc to 800cc in 2007, and then raised to 1000cc in 2012.

At the end of the 990cc era, Ducati released the Desmocedici RR street bike at 989cc as a 2008 model, with total production of 1500 units. The cost was around $72,500 and they still command in the high $40's today. The Desmocedici RR is arguably the closest street bike you have been able buy compared to a MotoGP bike, especially since leaving the 2-stroke world.

Yeah Ducati hasn't been in Moto GP long, but I never understood why they didn't keep Bayliss around.
But that's okay he killed WSBK.

There was a fight over who would get the first one in the USA between Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.

Tom won, Brad was pissed.

I knew Tom Cruise & Brad Pitt we’re moto guys but I’d never heard of them fighting over that Ducati.

Ducati fans do you think JL #99 is going to get a ride with Ducati? Think he will stay retired?

Right now, the scuttlebutt I hear is JL will get a ride in 2021.

I know a lot of people dislike JL but I’d like to see him get a ride with Ducati. I honestly believe he would be their best chance at a title. He was just settling into that bike and beginning to get some positive results before he left.

Very true. Ducati just have a way of souring quickly on riders who struggle with the bike. But like most things, it's all about what you've done lately. It would be fun to see him back on the grid. I think he and Stoner left too early.

I agree.
But the Ducati budget isn't anywhere near the Japanese companies.
And riders can't expect that.
I wish Bayliss had ridden longer.
I wish the Kentucky Kid had lived longer, I wish Stoner had stuck around.
Rossi couldn't find the groove.
I liked Dovi, but he is being kinda stupid.
JL I would love to see give it a go.

Andrea is not being stupid. Ducati have offered him 1/3 of his last contract. They didn’t have the bike last year to challenge HRC and MM, nobody did, especially Yamaha. That’s an insult, and Dovi nor his manager are having it. They are preparing to sit out for 2021 because it’s so chintzy of a contract. I don’t blame him one bit. Dovi has asked Gigi, for years (rider development), to get the thing to turn and it’s still the same. V the corner, and mid-corner it’s still trash. Ducati have always treated their riders like shit. Stoner, Dovi, and they didn’t even listed to Valentino and Burgess. But Gigi wasn’t there at the time.

Nobody’s budget is as large as HRC although KTM is getting close because of Red Bull and KTM’s absolute hatred of HRC.

Cal is also getting fucked over.

Yeah, I guess you are right looking at the salary.
I like Dovi, in fact I got a one piece replica leathers of his.
I just wish this Covid crap hadn't ruined all of racing.

Cal is DEFINITELY getting the shaft.

Can you tell me more about KTM's hatred of HRC?

Being in the Duc world, I don't know much of this but, I am intrigued. Background?
