Get my pies outta the oven! |
Been using them since 2018 and never usually have any issues. Ordered some gummy vitamins for my kids and started seeing these messages on my order in the tracking: (My address on the order is correct) “Carrier corrected delivery address issue for your package” - this message is listed twice in the tracking as it moves. Then my Amazon Orders page says this:
Again, my address listed on the order is correct and hasn’t changed. Should I just cancel this and start over?

I've seen similar messages, not on shipping but during ordering online, about "fixing the shipping address". It's things like upper-casing the city name, or converting from a 5-digit zip code to the 9-digit one. One time the gov't changed the zip code for my neighborhood, and it took literally years for all the various zip code lookup databases to get the new one. So depending on where I was ordering from I might have to use the old zip code to make their address confirmation logic accept it.

I have had the same issue with multiple orders shipped by multiple shippers the last three months. I have now an order from Etsy that was "delivered 15th of July" but haven't received it, USPS website says the tracking number doesn't exist, but if I go to Etsy and click on the link it takes me right to it. And it shows that my address is incorrect and that it's in Processing. My address is correct on the sellers conformation email. I have had it happen with UPS, USPS, FEDEX, and DHL. I have no clue what is going on. ARman

Did they tell you what the "corrected" address was?

I've had the corrected address in tracking with UPS. I used the amazon chat box to see what was up. It took awhile for amazon to check on it, amazon mentioned it would arrive when it was supposed to. Apparently the message in transit was an error. Now when I see that in tracking, I ignore it, so far everything is arriving on time.

I had an order like that - at some point in shipping something got the label wet and smeared it so it was illegible. They printed out a new label for it.

I mailed a package to the Denver area last week & USPS tracking showed delivery the next day to a Nashville suburb but never going thru the surburban PO. My shipping software (Pirate Ship) tracked the package correctly to Denver. __________________________________________________ If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit! First, recognize that these "messsages" are canned responses and represent the driver's/dispatcher's best effort to inform their customer (Amazon, not you) of what they think is going on. So it is, at best, an approximation, modified by lack of understanding and data. I have seen this because "St." was spelled out in the address as "Street" and USPS addressing guidelines do not recognize "Street" as a valid street type. In my case, where the name of my postal district does not match the "City" field in my USPS-recognized address, I get "exceptions" all the time. There are actually a dozen or so post offices that fit into the City, each with their own name (corresponding to a particular 5-digit zip code). I suspect most urban areas are similar. So, when the AI validating addresses sees anything other than a perfect match, it will complain, and sow confusion and disruption. Which will come first, AI's thinking like humans, or humans (defensively) thinking like AIs?

How fucked up is it that the USPS would only recognize the abbreviation (with or without the period?), and NOT the actual word correctly spelled out? Amazing... 'AI' - Abbreviated (Absent?) I’ve had a couple Amazon orders change to “undeliverable” lately and get refunded. ? Address issue glitches, I get this with several websites/shippers and my address: It constantly wants to change my abbreviated address from the commonly used accepted one to something odd. Like “Rd.” for “road”, only it doesn’t like Road or Rd, and wants me to use “Ro” instead, which nobody uses as the abbreviation for road??? (it’s not road, that’s just an example) On the other hand I can’t understand why UPS can’t ship things to me even with the right address. I’ve mentioned it before, UPS ships things to ”me”, but to a house in another town, where the only thing similar is the house number? Boxes are clearly addressed: Mr. cas 52 my street My town, NY 12345 Yet they ship them to: Mrs. Someone Else 52 her street Her town, NY 98765 It’s happened a couple times. The first time I had to track it down through UPS. The last two times she just called me and I went and got it from her. Shipped from different companies each time. Every time it’s been ammunition or bullets for reloading. That last part makes me look around carefully and slowly reach for my tinfoil hat.

I had several on USPS showing a variety of things, included delivered that were wrong in the last few days. Finally it said delivered, to postal locker. I went to my local Post Office and they were there. Seems the USPS is having an unusually large number of problems recently and it seems to be nationwide. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

I've had this w/ Drive where my auto fill was "Dr." instead of "DR" or something and it made me fix it before the order would go through.
