I find them interesting and I’m starting a search for a good used one, 2016 let’s say. I’m a big guy and that certainly one of my concerns regarding any smaller sporty car.

I’m likely to pack on the miles, maintenance costs in line? Daily driver 6 months of the year let’s say, I’ve got an f150 for any other needs.

My wife had one. Super fun little car! Very reliable and handled great, plenty of power. Overall, the fit and finish was not great outside of the above and it ate tires like crazy.

Check out the owner's forums to get a feel for things.

I haven't owned one but did own an 2005 Infiniti G35 sedan which was built off the same platform as the 350Z. I had the manual 6 speed transmission and had a lot of vibration issues with it. At 3,500 RPM, the shifted vibrated are than a gas fired blender mixing a margarita. @ different dealerships and Nissan corporate were no help in fixing the issue. The Nissan regional rep's answer was, "You bought a performance car, not a luxury car, get used to it."

At the time I was heavily into autocross. Another driver was running a G35 coupe and had similar issues to mine eventually losing 2nd gear. Another has a 350Z that had the transmission replaced twice and was looking at a 3rd time.

Great car and handled great, but the manual transmission was basically the same Aisin made unit that Mazda used in the Miata. It may work great in a Miata, but it was not up to handling the big Nissan V-6's.

IIRC, the 370 was a big improvement over the 350.
I always felt the 350 & some G35s felt cheaper & more rattly than the 370/G37.

I have a 2010 370Z, 40th Anniversary Edition. Have owned it since new. Has about 51,000 miles on it. Been a great car. No issues other than it likes to go through tires - could be the way I drive it though. Maintenance has been nothing but oil changes so far.

I had one exactly as pictured above! It ran good, not terribly fast but the one thing it did better than any car I have ever owned was stop. It would stop so fast that it felt like your eyes were gonna pop out of your head.
I sold it after I got second hand stories of my teenage son testing some of its limits.
No reliability issues of any kind. I really did like the car.

A close friend has a 350 Nismo. Over 100k on it, and he hasn’t had any issues. They do have offsize tires, so you can’t rotate the tires.

He loves it, it’s not his daily driver anymore, so it gets a lot of garage time.

That’s great to hear. I’m 6’4” and it’s kept out of a few cars I loved the looks of.

Nissan is practically in the toilet financially, it concerns me being an Infiniti owner. I’m glad to see some folks here say they’re having good luck with them still.

If I remember correctly, I recently read that the 370 has been discontinued as a model at the end of the 2019 or 2020 model year. You might want to give that some thought before you opt to pull the trigger on one.

Here in UK the downside is the truly awful gas mileage. OK, so you don't buy a car like that to be economical but 14 - 15 mpg is a mite ridiculous for a comparatively modest sports car. By comparison, my old Boxster, that can blow most 350/70Zs into the weeds without breaking into a sweat, can do well up in the late 20's.

I might point out, too, that the average cost of regular gas here is around $9/gallon.

THAT doesn't help.

It's being replaced for 2021 with what will likely be called the 400Z. The 370Z is still available as a 2020 model. Saw one this morning at my dealer.

I get 18.5-19.5 MPG in my 370Z. Certainly the new Porsche 718 is a stronger performer, but would love to know which "old Boxster" you had, and where those "weeds" were located: Nissan 370Z vs Porsche Cayman
