$3.55 for 93 octane in Alton, Illinois because it is right across the river from Missouri gas stations which have much less taxes per gallon. Regular 87 is $3.14. 20 mile farther into Illinois and it is $3.79

Yikes.
I bought some 100LL Avgas for my 2 stroke equipment a few days ago and it was $6.75 a gallon.

Was $6.39 by my Mobil. Now of course we have our "winter blend" coming, next month and they say it will drop some.
Sure, after they pump it up to $8 bucks.

$6.54 currently at Our Little Airport, but go a bit south to Orlando International and you can get it for only $9.19 / gallon. Eek

I was surprised that gas price at local CostCo (Poway) bumped up almost a buck from last fill-up.
$6.19 IIRC.
That's OK with me, I hope it keeps going up until November

OKC metro area has 2 Costcos. One has Regular E10 $3.07 & Premium E10 $3.34. The other has Regular E10 $2.95 and Premium E10 $3.31. These are not the cheapest prices, some retailers sell this Top Tier Gas for a little less. Phillips 66/Conoco is the refinery, quality fuel.

There are many many Places selling 100% Pure Gas, no Ethanol, for about 50-60 cents more per gallon.

As usual you guys are getting screwed.

I almost bought a gallon of Coleman fuel last evening. That was outrageous $18.99 a gallon!

I just came back from a 4 day trip to Anaheim to meet up with relatives.

I normally plan my long trips as to where to get gas. I prefer Love's gas stations on long trips for the clean restrooms. You can see below, prices in AZ go about $4.00 then as soon as you cross into CA, prices jump to $6.00. That's close to a 50% increase.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Irony abounds as refineries in California are more profitable than Gulf Coast:

From the 9-30-2022 Wall Street Journal

Cash-strapped Americans have received relief from falling gas prices in recent weeks, but not
Californians. The average gas price in the Golden State this week surged to $6.29 a gallon—
$2.50 more than the national average—and the reasons are worth distilling since Gov. Gavin
Newsom wants to export the state’s energy policies nationwide.

California gas prices have long been higher than the national average owing to hefty fuel
taxes and climate regulations, but the difference now is the largest in at least two decades.
Taxes add about 66 cents to the price of a gallon, about twice as much on average as other
states. California’s cap-and-trade program and low-carbon fuel standard add roughly another
46 cents a gallon.

These climate regulations are causing refineries to shut down or convert to producing
biofuels that are more profitable because of rich government subsidies. California lost 12% of
refining capacity between 2017 and 2021 and is set to lose another 8% by the end of next year.
Yet refineries outside of the state can’t produce its supposedly greener fuel blend.

“If you’re a (refiner) on the Gulf Coast, your gross profit on gasoline is about $6.60 (per barrel
of oil). If you’re in Los Angeles it’s about $101,” Tom Kloza of the Oil Price Information Service
told the Mercury News. As much as progressives loathe Big Oil, their climate policies benefit
large refiners and producers that can sustain the state’s steep regulatory costs.
Californians may be inured to high gas prices and not even realize how much more they pay
than folks in other states. The average price of gas is $3.11 a gallon in Texas and $3.39 in
Florida despite supply disruptions from Hurricane Ian. Many Californians think they’re living
in the inevitable green future.

Mr. Newsom is making the rounds trying to raise his national profile of late, with a 2024
presidential run in mind. He’s boasting about his climate policies, though not about the high
costs and shortages that go with them. He won’t get away with that if he goes national.

Wife filled up this weekend at Sam's Club for $2.88 per gallon for 87 octane.
