As a young man I determined I needed to build strength to be more competitive in the sports I played. I was already pretty fit and flexible so I went into my first day at the weight room cavalierly. The next day I could not straighten my arms at the elbow. My biceps were so contracted that I walked around as if holding a tray in front of me. I had to sit out multiple games and practices until things loosened back up. I still don't think I over-did it but my body disagrees.
