I would use the Dawn and, that sticky stuff will break right away with a fine Scotch Bright pad. You hood should have a satin finish. Its food grade material. If you got restaurant quality grease build up, that finer pad will plug up fast. Rinse it out in nice hot water.

Goo Gone Kitchen Degreaser. The only thing we’ve ever found that cleans the stainless hood, and it cleans it instantly. It got years of grease we just could never get off in one spray and wipe. Sig P226 .40 S&W Sig SP2022 9mm RIA 1911 Gov't .45 ...and more

Wipe it with Acetone. It will take the grease right off, won't hurt the stainless a bit. Can polish the stainless with Nevrdull and a microfiber and will put a protective coating on it after the acetone, and will remove any discoloration from age/heat/etc. Also Flitz makes a good stainless cleaner/protectant that's in a spray bottle. https://shop.fishbrain.com/a/c...nt=Ad%20group%20%231

Dawn and hot water. If that doesn’t work, Meguiar ‘s Super Degreaser. Microfiber cloths instead of paper towels in either instance (they help with the cleaning).

I thought about simple green, but there wasn’t even an empty spot for it at the store. Dawn makes sense, even with the extra rinsing step. I didn’t even know Goo Gone made such a thing. I’ve always used their basic version for sticker residue. Acetone may be a bit much, though it would be a good contact buzz. ________________________________________ -- Fear is the mind-killer. My Sheila Shine arrived yesterday and I have to say that stuff is awesome. Order of magnitude better than my hydrogen peroxide followed by Weiman stainless steel cleaner & polish. Cleans faster and leaves the protection in one step. You state you do not want an antibacterial but, we have found that any brand disinfectant wipe (we use clorox brand) is great at cutting grease. We use them mainly on the stove and surrounding area and sometimes follow up with a paper towel. ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ
