I had BPH. It was mostly under control until I got off a plane and couldn't go at all.

I was cathed until I could have some sort of procedure.

There are lots of procedures now for BPH.

Each has its advantages and disadvantageous.
All have risks and probable side effects.

I got 4 opinions and 4 different recommendations.

No one recommended TURP because of the large size of my prostate.

Get several opinions, from different urologists.

My surgery went great.
I now piss with authority, getting more sleep at night, only up 1-2X vs. 5-6X before surgery.
After the re-training of bladder etc. this will settle down even more.

As I stated above, I went the HoLEP route bc it’s once and done, forever.
TURP?
Not so much.
