My 17 year old daughter's response, "that's dumb."

YooperSigsDon't carry your tactical puck into the airport. Or a puck free zone. And of course we must ban all high capacity pucks!

Probably more useful than most faculty training!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Issuing weapons to students? Why not just give the kids all Hi-Points?

justjoeI work with people like this. I'll guarantee that discussion of the proposal to supply teachers with hockey pucks contained these jewels:
"A lot of innocent kids could be hit and injured and maybe killed by thrown hockey pucks!"
"Aren't we still teaching the use of weapons? Bullets, hockey pucks, yes, they are different, but the principle is the same: The answer is weapons!"
"How about tennis balls? They would still cause distraction, but no one would get hurt. I suggest tennis balls."
"Backpacks full of hockey pucks all over campus! Why not just give everyone a war club! What are we becoming!"
Meanwhile, some psycho will go onto a campus that has issued hockey pucks, and a professor-- an educated, intelligent person-- will be killed as he fumbles through his briefcase looking for a hockey puck to throw.

M-11And how many of these puck carriers can throw with the necessary accuracy, let alone at slapstick speeds (100+ mph)? Idjits.

Haveme1or2If I were the shooter It would instantly turn into a contest to shoot the pucks in the air as they were thrown.
So, you see, this chit would work just fine...
Yep, good idea.
Throw chit at a mad dog it'll quickly change it's mind and efforts. ...duhhh...

beltfed21I hope they’re not allowed to carry more than 10 pucks at a time!

Is it better than cowering behind a desk, yep.
At least they are doing something. Who knows, maybe this opens the door to better alternatives.

CooksterTo throw a puck with any velocity and accuracy to effectively harm or even distract a determined shooter, one will have to stand up tall and make a deliberate wind-up, throw and follow-through, thus fully exposing themslves to gunfire.
It's complete and utter lunacy!
It's like the school district somewhere here in PA that decided to strategically place buckets of rocks in schools for counter-attacking a shooter!
As justjoe mentioned above, this hockey-puck idea probably evolved from their 'deep' discussion on how to 'improve' the bucket 'o rocks idea!
The correct tools and response to counter a shooter are obvious, but the mentally defective Progressives are so fucked up that they refuse to acknowledge it and would rather sacrifice their children (and my children) as political fodder, and I despise and HATE them for it!
