First thought it, if the people of NYC elect a Ugandan Muslim anti colonialist as mayor they will rue the day....

Couldn’t get much out of the yelling video and I’m not up on NYC politics. What are the main issues with this guy? If it is not requisite to be US-born to be mayor, then I don’t see how being from Uganda is relevant.

When it comes to NYC mayoral races, all I know is there's always 1-2 moderates, and the vast majority are rapidly far-left; basically a reflection of the city council. The most recent race, Eric Adams current mayor was the left-of-center candidate.

I have no issues with foreign-born US citizens running for political office. That fact alone is not a problem.

It's his political stances that make him a poor candidate.

Because let's be honest here... If Elon Musk were to announce he was running for political office, most of Sigforum would be lined up around the block to vote for him despite "this isn't South Africa".

And if this guy was a staunch conservative, the fact that he was born in Uganda wouldn't matter so much.

I do not see anything in the postings that he is a US citizen. Perhaps I overlooked that detail.

He became a naturalized US citizen in 2018. His mother is also a naturalized US citizen.

US citizenship is a requirement to hold political office in NYC. Just like it is a requirement to be elected to the New York State Assembly, as he was in 2020.

“Rue the day…”
What a joke. Don’t underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers!
Two statements come to mind-
“You get what you deserve”
“Elections have consequences”

Take Chicago for example- we thought a bug-eyed, dyke, midget was our “best choice”. She turned out to be a turd, so we voted in Conehead- a prolapsed puppet for Toni Prekwinkle (Cook Co board president) and the Chicago Teachers Union, who’s even more radical and “woke” than the last.

“Wwaaaaaa…. This Democrat sucks! We’re going to vote for one who’s even MORE democrat!”

Well, he seems perfectly qualified.
But nobody is going to beat Andrew Cuomo.

I just started reading the bio, and my eyes rolled so far back up in my head I couldn't see any more. He seems perfect to me! What could go wrong?

Personally I'm rooting for Jessica Tisch. She seems very practical and not ideological. I think that's the best that Gomorrah can hope for.

But NYC wants non-citizens to vote:

New York’s top court to consider noncitizen voting in city elections

If the court upholds a city law, more than 800,000 people would be newly eligible to register in New York City

By Bill Mahoney

ALBANY, New York — New York’s top court is set to consider whether documented noncitizens can vote in New York City elections — a legal battle that’s tailor-made to catch the eye of the Oval Office.

The case, which will be argued Tuesday, could significantly reshape the city’s political landscape. Nearly a million potential voters would be allowed to participate in elections like mayoral contests if Democrats prevail...

Look at what happened when London got a Muslim mayor.

You want that here?

Look at Omar and Talib. That’s what you get.

And I’m just guessing you’d have a problem if someone said such a thing about a Christian candidate.

Apples and oranges. Christianity is a legitimate religion.

islam is incompatible with western culture and western society, particularly American culture and society. All one need do is take a look at Europe. Some want that shit here. Not I, and I make no apologies for that stance.
