When can we expect a film about white guys in the NBA?

If you aren’t a minority of some sorts, either in color, or sexuality, you don’t count according to Hollywood! Oh sorry, in this case Atlanta Big Grin

Started watching Vikings Valhalla, the sequel to the Vikings series. Who knew that they had black shield maidens and one of the leaders of Kattegat was also black. Learning something new everyday. Roll Eyes

I'm waiting for the untold story of the brave Yeoman ...they had to write so fast and listen to all sorts of toxic words. The pressure to collate and spell-check was immense and unmatched.

Saw a couple of reviews that referred to these folks as "heroes". Roll Eyes

They were sorting mail. Not delivering it under fire to troops on the front lines, they were sorting mail in England.

The risks of paper cuts and the trauma of cold coffee, all while in England in February of 1945.

This movie will really push the envelope all while trying to deliver the package.

Well, they did have to face Spotted Dick and Offal - so there's that.

Above all, historical dramas should be ACCURATE. But Hollywood knows that the pop culture version will be accepted as fact, and thus they can influence the perception of history.

The HBO mini-series Chernobyl was very good, but they created a female composite character from a couple dozen people that helped the two main players - the leading Physicist and the Government Party Guy. The female never existed, nor did any female in the group the composite was based on. Until reading about the fabrication, I didn't really question that there was a woman working on the response team.

The Tuskeegee Airmen were depicted in the Apple TV+ mini-series "Masters of Air" favorably, and hopefully accurately.

The injection of DEI into historical fiction not based on history has gotten way out of hand though.

Judging by obituaries I've seen over many years, it looks like the number of Tuskegee Airmen is about the same as people who were at Woodstock.

I don't know anything about this movie but I applaud the real women and their service at a time they were not very welcomed.

Ok, but if the fight scenes are good I’ll still probably watch it. I’m a sucker for a good artillery barrage scene!
