Bill and Melinda Gates calling it quits
Just to add a little fuel:

Melinda Gates Approved Bill's Unusual Arrangement With His Ex-Girlfriend Ann Winblad

Billy had vacations with his old girlfriend every year he was married, by agreement. I wish my wife were even close to that flexible.

They already announced the settlement agreement along with the no longer married announcement.
No real drama at this point and not my problem anyway.

Yep.

I don't care for their politics, but these people give away semi trucks full of money. There's no planet in the universe where I could see there being some financially messy divorce. We're talking about an amount of money that is absolutely unfathomable.

Michael Jordan and his wife Juantia had such an arrangement. You work with enough wealthy folks and you find out that many of them have either 'arrangements' or, put up with the other's proclivities as the money is too good.

Ex-spouses and side-dishes getting monthly allowances is not all that uncommon amongst the fabulously wealthy. Donald Sterling for his side-idiot got her a $1.5m condo, a handful of luxury vehicles, and a fat allowance.

It wasn't by accident they came up with the name Microsoft for his company.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Something tells me if she walks away with less than 1/3, say $40B, she'll have just enough to last a lifetime.

Just enough.

so there might actually be an advantage to 'the Silicon Jungle' which has overtaken our society. Big.Tek & Big.gov have taught each other the vaporware of bitcoin philosophy where the number of zeros is less important than
where the decimal point should really be, in describing the rewards possible if you manage to hold on long enough.

I love the Amazon quote. I like this one from Frasier as well:

..., at Cornell University they have an incredible piece of scientific equipment known as the Tunneling Electron Microscope. Now, this microscope is so powerful that by firing electrons you can actually see images of the atom, the infinitesimally minute building blocks of our universe. if I were using that microscope right now, I still wouldn't be able to locate my interest in your problem.

Remember how suspicious it was when Bill Gates left the board of directors at Microsoft? No real reason given, didn’t make any sense at all - it’s not like he had to spend any time or energy sitting on the board. Well, this makes more sense now...

Microsoft Directors Decided Bill Gates Needed to Leave Board Due to Prior Relationship With Staffer

Microsoft Corp. board members decided that Bill Gates needed to step down from its board in 2020 as they pursued an investigation into the billionaire’s prior romantic relationship with a female Microsoft employee that was deemed inappropriate, people familiar with the matter said.

Members of the board tasked with the matter hired a law firm to conduct an investigation in late 2019 after a Microsoft engineer alleged in a letter that she had a sexual relationship over years with Mr. Gates, the people said.

During the probe, some board members decided it was no longer suitable for Mr. Gates to sit as a director at the software company he started and led for decades, the people said. Mr. Gates resigned before the board’s investigation was completed and before the full board could make a formal decision on the matter, another person familiar with the matter said.

“Microsoft received a concern in the latter half of 2019 that Bill Gates sought to initiate an intimate relationship with a company employee in the year 2000,” a Microsoft spokesman said. “A committee of the Board reviewed the concern, aided by an outside law firm to conduct a thorough investigation. Throughout the investigation, Microsoft provided extensive support to the employee who raised the concern.”

That whole story is pretty ironic considering he is divorcing a woman he met while having an "office romance" when he was boss of the company. But now he's not fit to sit on the BoD? LOL. Clown world.

I would love to see Bill Gates on the Bachelor. Clumsy moves on the women contestants would be quite entertaining.
