Get my pies outta the oven! |
Has anyone here tried Sunday? It apparently is a lawn care subscription service sort of on the Harry’s razor model. You send them a soil sample, they analyze it and create a package of lawn treatments that get shipped to you. They are all liquid based and applied via hose and more natural type compounds than chemicals. I may give it a try, I’m not all that thrilled with Lawn Doctor to be honest, for what I pay I don’t seem to be getting much benefit. Sunday - How It Works

Looks like a novel idea. What is the cost?

I searched the website for cost,as well . Just a guess but they must need a square footage of the yard that you have. I am going to take a blind shot in the dark and guess $69.00 per month for 3,100 sq. ft. ( 6 months worth) Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. I think it said starting at $89 per year based on size of lawn. I’m at nearly 50 bucks a pop every time Lawn Doctor comes and they come like six times a year and then there’s the other things they do like aeration and seeding which can be hundreds more.

They state it's $69/year. $69/month ($828/year) would be significantly more expensive than a commercial service. I used to pay a little under $300/year for a commercial lawn weed/fertilizer service on ~7000 square feet. Also note that the custom Sunday subscription is fertilizer only... It doesn't include weed control. They sell post-emergent weed killer separately at $12/bottle, but don't seem to have an option for pre-emergent treatments, which are typically much better for weed control. (They claim it's because they're anti-pesticide, and are trying to promote hand-weeding, with occasional spot-treating.)

Your County Agricultural Agent provides soil testing service at a low cost. You have to take multiple samples in different areas to get an accurate reading. On the Gulf Coast almost all lawns require lime due to soil acidity. The lawn cannot use fertilizer if the ph of the soil is ot correct. As others have said it does not provide insect or weed control.

I briefly looked into it. I can by product from the box store for less money. The natural aspect is not important to me. I also despise the liquid treatments and dragging the hose around.

My estimate was for a 6 months only , and for weed treatment. so , $414.00 per year. generally speaking the neighbor guy next door gets four visits a year. . they apply it with their chemicals and water . never a weed or dandy lion, with watering ,lush green , I thought he told me $400.00 per year. they don't visit here in the winter months. if that system works as well, thats a great price Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency.
