People are playing a dangerous game when they pull this crap. Tim has moved a little too far to the right it would seem and is getting under the left's skin.

What are the chances they catch the person responsible?

Tim Pool gets swatted during live broadcast

During a live-broadcast of Tim Pool's Timcast IRL on Thursday, police entered the studio after receiving reports that two people had been shot and killed at the address where he records.

"Someone called the police and said they shot and killed two people and were going to kill more," Tim Pool said on Twitter.

"Police were told not to enter without a warrant but said they didn't need one due to exigent circumstances. This is a large house used as a production studio with many employees on site," Pool added.

....

"That's something that is extremely dangerous. Extremely reckless. Because swat incidents have led to many people dying," Rudkowski said. "People thinking that their house is being raided by criminals, defending themselves."

Man, that's crazy and so dangerous.

I wonder what happens to the prank-callers in these cases...?

I don't recall any news stories about that, about charging the shit-starters.

Thank God Officer Tatum was a guest during the episode. I watched that and I believe he played a crucial part in keeping Tim and the rest of the cast calm.

The officers were very calm during the incident.

I guarantee it will happen only once. The PD has his address now and will most likely handle things much differently in the future.

If the pranksters are caught, it's a felony charge with up to 20 years in prison.

Well, I remember at least one case where a kid got 20 years for swatting another man. But that actually led to his death.

Officer Tatum mentioned swatting is a felony and could lead to serious jail time.

I know it's hard to think at the moment, but he shouldn't have even mentioned that it happened on the show. You know that whoever called it in was watching. Don't give them that satisfaction.

I don't always agree with Tim or his guests, but I respect and like the guy for his willingness and ability to listen to a reasoned argument and the facts and not only change his mind but be open about that. It really pisses off the left because they're watching him get red-pilled over time and he's taking people with him. He appeals to a broad audience, including younger folks, and that's a serious problem for the leftists.

I'm glad he moved to the middle of nowhere last year, but he was too open with talking about where on the show. I hope that a failed SWATting is as bad as it gets, but I have my doubts.

Problem was that they walked into the studio during a live stream, kind of hard to ignore it while 30k plus are watching it live.

How often are the people who made the false report resulting in the swatting tracked down and charged?

It sounds like anyone could get a cheap burner phone from Walmart, make the false report, and get away with it?

Relatively few people, other than the truly professional crooks, give a great deal of thought to how they might be identified or caught.

A burner phone and SIM card purchased with cash from a very busy high-volume source might be difficult to run down. A similar purchase made using a credit card in a store with decent surveillance cameras would provide more investigative possibilities.

Another good question would be just how much effort is given to the investigation. Many departments would look at this situation and decide that since there were no injuries involved and it consisted of more of a prank than a planned crime, and give little or no priority to the investigation.

If multiple jurisdictions are involved (incident occurs in one city/county/state while the call originated in another city/county/state) then the issues of which agency is responsible, which has the resources and staffing, etc.

Even in a major metro area with excellent staffing and resources, such an incident might easily find its way to the bottom of the stack due to the volume of higher priority cases.

It would be nice if every incident received every bit of investigative effort possible, but that is not a realistic expectation. Every department has limited staffing, limited resources, limited budget, so prioritization is always involved.

Over 40 years ago I was a detective assigned to property crimes (burglary, theft, forgery, fraud, etc). I always had 40 or 50 open cases assigned, constantly had to juggle the phone calls, responses to inquiries, witnesses, suspects, and victims. Nothing like the TV shows in which the cops take one case and do nothing else until the conclusion of the episode.

30 years ago I was a police chief, always juggling schedules, assignments, budget, overtime, vacations, sick leave, court appearances, political pressures, and whatever got thrown on my plate every day.

Give the guys at 4-Chan 24 hours and I bet they can track down the offender.

Last time I checked an anonymous phone call with no corroboration or further information does not equate to exigency to enter private property.

Listening to Tim Pool tonight, he's addressing the SWATting incident last night. He believes it was a direct response to them having Marjorie Taylor Green on the night before as their guest. It was January 6th, and MTG had started receiving a whole lot of death threats that day after the show. Sounds plausible.

Tim also said the police told him that they can't tell him how, but they will find out who did this. Something tells me that the Feds might be involved. Who knows? Pool's studio is very close to D.C.

I'm sick of Tim Pool and I'm sick of his stupid freaking knit cap. Tim, everyone knows you are bald. OK? Everyone knows, and you know what? No one cares. Not a single person cares. Take off that stupid Goddamned hat.

I don't like his manner, or the sensationalist, clickbait thumbnails on his youtube videos, and it would be grand if he would just go away.

Yeah, it's not 1995 with payphones in empty parking lots. I'm sure they can find out.
