Just got the notice this morning. Have no idea when it became available. Anyone used it yet? Problems?
Thanks,

arfmelI installed it as soon as it came out, because it supposedly had security updates. I have it in my iPhone 11, iPhone SE3, and iPad. No issues to report on any of those.

konata88Seems okay. I'm seeing some issues with apps launching (takes a long time or need to close and re-launch. Not sure if it's apps or ios. I don't use a lot of apps.
Generally I install updates for the security patches. Unless critical bugs are noted.

xd45manI skip all apple updates near pride month. All you are going to get is propaganda in the form of wallpapers and emoji. I'll wait until something drops in August.

newtoSig765Now, that's an upgrade I could get in to! I'm tired of worrying that my GF's phone is listening in.

17.5.0 was released on May 13, and it introduced am embarrassing bug. The bug was that users started seeing photos that they had deleted as long as 10 years ago.
One week later, 17.5.1 was released to correct that bug.
I
put off procrastinated installing 17.5.0 long enough when it was released to learn about the bug, and then installed 17.5.1 when it arrived. The install went smoothly. No previously unreported bugs appeared, and my system is running well (m2-Pro Mac mini on Ventura 13.6.7).

nhracecraft^^^NEVER install an 'XX.X.ZERO' release! Wait for the BETA Testers the discover all the inevitable flaws instead, and sit patiently until the 'dot ONE' update comes along...Just sayin'

Pipe SmokerA couple of days ago, when I bought an Apple Watch at the Apple Store, they installed iOS 17.5.1. Yesterday, the built-in Apple Health app reported an incorrect walking distance. Until iOS 17.5.1 it had been very consistent.
Today, I’ll use my purchased GPS app to see what’s going on.

Pipe Smoker^^^^^^^
Issue now understood, I think. I don’t normally have my iPhone on my person, except while I’m out on my daily walks.
But my new Apple Watch is always on my wrist except while it’s charging (and I’m stationary then). So the Apple Watch detects nearly ALL of my daily walking, not just the “exercise” portion of it. And the Apple Watch tells the Apple Health app on my iPhone of it.
I don’t know how the Apple Watch measures my walking distance. GPS, accelerometer, or a combination of those. Probably the combination.
Serious about crackers.
