All mine won’t work with the 12+ in the Otterbox case, something about the cameras making the case different/thicker.

Same model case and my 8+, regular 8, and regular 12 or whatever from work will all charge through, but not this 12+. I’ve been dealing with it for a few months but I want wireless charging back.

Anyone have one they know will work, before I start playing Russian roulette on Amazon?

My 15 year old has the iPhone 12 and had to buy the Apple case in order to charge his phone wirelessly.

It looks like this https://www.apple.com/shop/pro...a06005cae9e640e7e4ba but for the iPhone 12.

Mine's a 12. I had to install my Otterbox because the other cases were too easily broken. I lost the wireless charging when I did. I hated that my magnetic mount charging car holder wouldn't hold nor charge anymore. So I cut the rubber back out of the otter box. Now the wireless function is back and the steel tabs are better exposed so the magnetic mount works again.

There is a MagSafe capable Otterbox Defender. Link. I know that would mean buying a new case, but with MagSafe, would that make it more capable of wireless charging?

As was stated previously, you have to have the Otterbox case that is MagSafe capable, they have some sort of insert/sensor on the inside back of the case for this purpose.

Well that’s annoying.

Yes it is annoying - but I can verify that once you have the magsafe version (which I had a hard time finding in stores), everything works just fine.

I have the 12 Pro Max. I use the otterbox defender series screenless case. Bought on Amazon (use the following exact phrase to search for this case)…
“OtterBox Defender Series SCREENLESS Edition Case for iPhone 12 Pro Max”
Back in November, the Varsity Blues color was $22.19. That’s what I got. It’s very dark blue, which I’m good with. I think it may be $37 now. Roll Eyes Also the black case is available for $46 now, and a couple other colors.
Anyway, i have no problems with any wireless chargers we have around the house with this case, both aftermarket and apple wireless chargers. Charges overnight every night, no glitches.
It’s my third Otterbox Defender case (iPhone 8, 9, & now 12 pro max). I’ll continue buying them for each iPhone. Bulky but not too bulky, still fits in back pocket and not too heavy. Dropped more times than I can count without failure…. Knock on wood…

A friend had an older version of these Ubio Labs chargers and I tried. Worked like a champ.

Found a new version at Costco today. Works perfect with my case.

All OtterBox cases are not Mag Safe capable. My wife and I are using the OtterBox Symmetry case and it works.
