Nice day, scattered clouds, lotsa sunshine. And wind. BIG wind. Therefore, per usual, power is out. Went out at about 5:30 this morning, still out, likely will be for a while as there are extensive outages in the county.
Cheaper to pay line crews on weekends than to clear right-of-way I guess.
Battery backup kept the computer going until my good friend Mr. Kohler took over. It wasn't cheap, but damned if it ain't some of the best money I ever spent!

lopezpHearing this helps me justify my latest project. I just installed a 50 amp power inlet and interlock on my panel to use with my 10kw/8kw generator. Easy and inexpensive peace of mind for hurricane season!

SuppressedI have a friend that installed a whole house generator because of the Y2K scare. Everybody kidded her afterwards when nothing happened. A few years later, hurricane Isabel came through and all of her neighbors were without power for two and a half weeks.
