I keep it saved on my dvr. Pbs plays it often. Really like watching it several times a year.
He made and lived a happy life for himself and kept after it till he was very old.

As a former Alaskan, I've owned that DVD since the late 90's. The resourcefulness of this guy is impressive, and he did it all later in life.

This guy I follow on you tube credits Proenneke for influencing him to build an off grid cabin in Alaska. His videos are very relaxing considering he’s working chopping wood and building in most of them. They are asmr type videos.
