Very sorry to hear that, Greg.
My co-Grandpa is battling more aggressive bladder cancer than mine; fortunately now in the care of a super urologist at UCSD.

thanks all

I knew he was Stage 4 terminal for the past 2 years and I kept him working

I was at the point where if I didn't hear from him every couple of days I'd fire off an email

He always responded - maybe a day later but I knew he was in agony (he never let on but I could hear it in his voice)

I thought I would be ready when the call came, but I wasn't.

Writing his obit to send around the company today.

I am sorry for the loss of your friend.
When I worked at an in-patient Hospice facility, I would receive a patient roster with the type of admission listed.
For 95% of the patients the cause was:
Cancer or COPD.
These two are what's killing all of us.
