Chicago firefighter knocks out angry perp using Halligan tool
I have a halligan in my squad that they issued us as a breaching tool. It's is a hefty sob, and it works good on doors and sewer grates. I've never used it on somebody's face, but clearly it's effective for that too.

Sure there's a bit of a friendly rivalry between us and the hose draggers, but good on that guy for getting the job done. I'd rather be partnered with him any day than that worthless excuse for a cop.

Also gotta love how being out of your mind on crack in public is no longer a criminal matter but a "mental health crisis".

Part of the problem!
Some see those positions as a “reward”.
All the pay, all the benefits, yet not doing any of the heavy lifting.
That inside spot should be reserved for a Cop with 25, 30 + years on the job, the Cop that’s banging up from a bad traffic accident, or other work related injurys.

NOT some useless, waste of a space that WANTS to go inside and hide.

No argument there, the harsh reality as you've seen it, is she won't get canned (labor rules) but she will get shuffled-off to some low-impact position. Whomever is her assigned partner no doubt has stories of her prowess. Roll Eyes Perhaps she can be assigned to the Mayor's detail

That DEI hire is worthless bitch.

Going into my 29th year without a taser. council won't approve them. new hires afraid to go hands on. had an idiot high on something kick one of my younger guys in the face on halloween. i said stop being nice and take the guy down. smh, this old man had to go do it. two of my kids are older than all the cops on my shift that night.

had a kid call me to quit on day 3 of the academy after watching videos of cops getting killed on traffic stops. it's just this new generation.

Chowser, I know exactly what you’re going through.
It happens to me way too frequently. “Why in the hell is old guy doing all this shit?!?”

Im glad the kid tapped out on day 3. He came to the realization that the job wasn’t for him. Good self awareness! It’s better than year 3!

So, interested people want to know. Did he get "Halliginated", Halligized", "Halligatored", or "Halligoned"?

As it turns out, the Halligan got its name, not from a man who invented it, but from a guy who had been hit with it once before.

His last words before going unconscious were "Oh.. it's gonna be hell-again".
