Guys, receiving multiple packages of inexpensive products is a sure sign of a "brushing" scam. An unscrupulous seller sends a cheap package to a recipient whose contact info they found online or something. They can then use their identity to post false positive reviews of their real and more expensive procucts. Some online marketplaces like Walmart require multiple successful deliveries to qualify as a confirmed buyer, so the scammer sends multiple packages to them. Walmart brushing scam I would probably investigate if the OP starts to see other ramifications of identity theft.

OP reports his credit card has been charged for these packages, to the tune of about $1k.

^The latest spin on this scam involves using stolen credit card information to make actual charges on the victim's account, making their victim pay for the scam. It's happening fairly widely now. OP needs to close that account right away and request a refund. Brushing/credit card scam

Luckily the card was closed that day and a new one was overnighted to me. I've been checking it daily to see if there is any other activity, and I've locked all of my other cards that I'm not currently using.

^Good for you. Will they reverse the fraudulent charges? Perhaps a small consolation, you do get to keep the packages. Sigforum karma!!!This message has been edited. Last edited by: kkina,
