And I will tell him to get the phone numbers of ATF NOLA and LSP and put them in his phone. LSP keep a big presence in New Orleans.

LSP has to because NOPD is unless. He could call LSP Troop B at (504) 471-2775 they are by I-10 in Kenner.

I would get another hobby I hate going to N.O. and talking guns with NOPD isn't good.

Yep. Waited over two hours for police to arrive after accident in New Orleans East on I-10. I was a passenger and no injuries. My sister in law insisted on waiting that long. I explained to her that the area was not safe. Finally she gave up after exchanged insurance information and taking pictures. Understaffed department. Response time in certain areas of the city is quite slow.

My girlfriend's job is delivering a certain type of package and we have to go to New Orleans East Hospital sometimes to drop off. I go from Baton Rouge to Slidell just to try to stay on the edge and get back out and go home. I just read a few minutes ago about someone getting killed in N.O. East

I don't know much about this but it sure seems like a whole bunch more hassle than it's worth.

Just what do you think the percentage of guns found in the water that were NOT involved in a crime is?

I fell down the youtube rabbit hole one night watching some guys in the former eastern bloc countries magnet fishing in ponds, swamps etc,

pulling out all kinds of stuff from WW2,

gotta wonder how many casts per find there is,
as in do you toss that magnet out 100x's,, for one hit,

or?

guess it depends

No way to know. I have a few docks that are consistent producers.

The trade off is- Do you go every week hoping to get something fresh and un-corroded= Less finds but in better shape.

Or

Go once every 6 months to search the accumulation of items.

I remember getting gas on Chef Highway before I knew the area. Being from Chicago, I noticed a few things which made me uncomfortable and I left in a hurry.

Considering the large number of firearms various posters on firearms forums reported lost in boating accidents it's gotta be a 'UGE! percentage! Smile

That’s nightly in the East, vast Majority of the shootings are on the lake side of I-10

The discount zone at Chef hwy and I-10 by the highrise bridge is #1 spot for carjackings in the city

I did a quick search for this it is interesting. NOLA Crime Map

This full thread inspired me to look at NOLA, I really have never been there. Didn't realize it was actually such a small area. It is interesting the naming of "lakes" seems like they connect directly to the ocean from google maps.

Just looking at the satellite view, the place was very familiar, though I'm from the Detroit area. Thus my prior comment on lakes as I have a distinct idea of what a lake is.

Huge overreaction to a reference from the TV show Home Improvement (see 48 second mark):

Never even seen the show and he and the whizzo have a track record of being abrasive. I have zero tolerance for either.

Um, I didn't get the reference either, saw the show a few times, and I'm with Marzy on this one.

The internet doesn't do gentle ribbing well...

And yes, let's all just get along.

On another note...
What kind of magnets do you get to metal fishing? Where do you buy them and what do you tie them off with. In my parts I could lock onto a German U boat...
