Certainly this "scholar" should have planned better. Should have researched costs before moving. Frogs look at the "next" lily pad before jumping off the current one, right?

It's really too bad they can't spend feelings.
If they could their problem would be solved because they seem to have an overabundance of feelings.
Welcome to reality snowflake.

I love when they find out just how "good" Canada's healthcare system is, they love touting how wonderful it is compared to the US.

We had friends years ago from Canada that said even a simple dentist visit would take so long to get they'd travel into the US to get it done.

They killed Natasha Richardson after she fell skiing in Canada and the local hospital didn't even have a CT scanner which delayed the response that could have saved her.

The left has generally demonstrated repeatedly that they can't think beyond the next move in tic-tac-toe. They rely on their corruption and the benevolence of others to survive.

I lived in Alberta for 2 years, and had their health care.

Dental care - I'm glad I retained my US dental insurance as my expat coworkers up there with me visited the dentist and it was $600+ out of pocket for routine cleaning. I was in the US enough that I just went to my old dentist 3x per year like normal.

Medical care -
  • I had a hard time finding a primary care physician and must have called a dozen places before I found one accepting new patients
  • My PCP was a Russian immigrant and he explained to me that if I needed more care than he could provide to think of it as a 1980s Soviet breadline. Fortunately, I never needed more care than him while in Canada
  • I kept my US health insurance so I saw specialists when I was on trips back to US
  • Name brand prescriptions (e.g. Crestor at the time) was less than generic which was shocking after paying US prices for prescriptions all these years
  • My 25 year old coworker was a Canadian citizen and went over her handlebars mountain biking in the Canadian Rockies. She crushed her femoral artery during the fall, but was advised to not get a stent installed as she was only entitled to 2 stents her entire life and should save for old age. Instead, she was put in rigorous PT where the goal was getting the body to build new channels to flow around the collapsed artery.

    NYC is hiring.

Emergency Snow Shovelers are called on after heavy snowfalls to remove snow and ice citywide from public areas like bus stops, crosswalks and fire hydrants, and step streets.

We recruit temporary, per diem (by day) shovelers as needed.

In most storms, Emergency Snow Shoveler pay starts at $19.14 per hour and increases to $28.71 per hour after the first 40 hours worked in a week.

Due to blizzard conditions in the current winter storm, pay for this weather event starts at $30 per hour and increases to $45 per hour after the first 40 hours worked in a week.

    But...

At your appointment you must have:

Two original forms of ID, plus copies (if possible) AND
Social Security number (bring card, if possible)

    To vote...just show up.

What struck me about this far leftie was that "she could understand" not having access to Canadian healthcare since that was for Canadian citizens. I seriously doubt she can understand why US citizens do not want undocumented immigrants benefiting from US healthcare. What a hypocrite. So typical of progressive lefties. On a sidenote, close to 30 years ago when I was in graduate business school, one of our classmates was the daughter of a senior Canadian health official who confirmed the dismal picture painted by one of our case studies of the Canadian healthcare system.
