I love it. The "nice" thing to do is to quietly let her fade off into the sunset. But too many people in the Democratic Party just can't trust her to quietly fade off into the sunset. So someone has to quietly, and very nicely, stick the ice pick in - and then be roundly damned for it by all of the other liberals who desperately wanted it to be done just so they could be sure that the nightmare is over.

I know, I know, no one in their right mind expects her to make it back into politics again. But look at it from the liberals' perspective. Every attempt she makes to play any kind of role in liberal politics in the future (surely she's entitled to consider herself some kind of grande dame?) is going to be a power play, and fending it off is going to be very messy and upsetting and embarrassing. IOW, even though she's not coming back in, she could still create a lot of messy situations that those who voted for her in '16 will still have to clean up.

Maybe Hilary should not wear high heels to the hurricane site.
