Why should he be held accountable when there are others in government who lie constantly, Adam Shitt, Pocahontas I can go on and on. I would say 25% are pathological liars, and another 50% have lied while in office or running for office. So why is it that Republicans are held to a different level of honesty standard.

Why the rationalizations and enabling?
The man lied to voters no doubt in an effort to get elected. Another word for that type of behavior is fraud. That others may have done similar doesnt justify anything.

This guy is WAY over the top. I knew kids like him in high school. In college we had the Honor System just like the Service Academies and if you got caught doing stuff like this you were gone in a heartbeat. Integrity is important. The fact that others have done similar things is something a high school kid would say. It is just plain disgusting.

I get the complaint, but what are YOU doing about it?
These things don't happen in a vacuum. Those actively involved attempt to locate and encourage qualified candidates. Those candidates then have to run against others.
If you don't like the quality of candidate running, there are two primary options: Help locate a better candidate or throw your hat in the ring. Complaining, wishing, hoping, sitting out elections, etc. are what lead to exactly what you're seeing here.
